The story behind the image:
I took this shot in August 2019, it was a life changing time for me. I originally posted a portrait, slightly darker version. I suppose my processing of the image is more reflective of where I’m at in life now compared to then.
This particular morning served as a reminder for me of how hope is something we all can have. That year I went through some massive things in my life, with the loss of family members, changing jobs and personal life changes. It was right in the middle of what was quite a turbulent time. It gave me hope that there was something to look towards. I stood on the side of the road and watched as this light developed into a bright ray that filled the frame in front of me.
We all have to remember there is light, however fearful we may feel. For hope is that small little light in the darkest of places. Whether it’s grief, fear, or helplessness at this moment in time believe that there is some hope. Those same feelings of hope are still key for today however we are doing during this time we need to remember there is or will be light at the end of tunnel. Every time I see it stands as a reminder hope is there if you want to look for it. Stay safe everyone, here is a little quote that was quite helpful at the time.
“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.” Desmond Tutu
