Another of those shots from Sizewell Beach, the power station is so close to the sea. I found the marram grass was an interesting foreground for the brutalist backdrop of the power station. Nature certainly wins on this occasion as it almost takes over the station in the background.

This section of coast is really interesting to photograph, so much going on and when the tides are right, the compositions are there for the taking. This is a shot looking south, and was taken early last year. After sun has risen the cliff edge glows orange, although the cliff has been changed by the rising tides and erosion over past few years.

Happy Earth Day!

As the sun became slightly harsh the opportunity came to capture the light sparkling and shimmering on the marram grass on the beach. Much like the earlier version I posted previously this was about using the old cooling towers as a background interest.

Revisiting an old shot of these two trees, I like to call the gatekeepers. Perfectly standing tall over this small gate into a local footpath. The conditions were much warmer than last time, with a little flash of light.

A shot at low tide last year, with the clay deposits on full show. This stretch of beach is pretty unique with these deposits lurking below the tide only to be show when the tides turn. It can be an interesting thing to photograph but also a challenge to capture when there is a heavy sky. The darker tones of the clay need a bit of colour from the sky to help the eye travel through the image.

The pungent smell of wild garlic and the elegance of the smattering of bluebells in bloom. Walking up to this woodland I was hit by the full aroma of wild garlic. With very limited smell due to Covid a few years back, the garlic was quite overpowering really but still welcome when I don’t often smell much day to day. This was the first shot I took as I walked into the woods I was caught by how close both the garlic and bluebells were growing together. And how they seem to roll into the distance.

This has been sitting my computer half edited for nearly a year until a week or so ago and then it caught my eye. I guess time allowed for it to grow on me. It was pretty foggy morning and as it’s perched on one of the few hills of Suffolk there is was even more isolation compared to its surroundings.
